  1. 750 gm chicken on bone, curry cut,
  2. 3 cup long grain basmati rice,
  3. 5 tbsp desi ghee,
  4. Whole Garam Masala...
  5. 2 bari Elaichi,
  6. 6 laung,
  7. 10 kali mirch sabit,
  8. 2 tejpatta,
  9. 2 inch pc of dalchini,
  10. 6 choti Elaichi,
  11. Pinch Shah zeera,
  12. Pinch saunf (optional),
  13. 8 dry red chilli,
  14. 5 med sized onion thickly sliced,
  15. 1 tsp garlic paste,
  16. 1/2 tsp ginger paste,
  17. to taste, Salt
  18. 4 cup curd,
  19. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
  20. 1 tsp sugar,
  21. 3 potatoes, peeled, cut into halves (optional),

Instructions to make to make Yakhni Pulao

  1. Wash rice, soak in water for 1 hour, strain it, keep aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, add ghee, heat it.
  3. Add whole garam masala, zeera & saunf, saute it for a minute.
  4. Now add dry red chilli, saute it for a sec.
  5. Add onion now, stir fry it until translucent.
  6. Add chicken, give a stir. Add aloo also.Now add ginger garlic paste now stir fry it for a minute. Sprinkle lil water to avoid burning.
  7. Add salt & garam masala powder, stir fry it till chicken turns light brown.
  8. Add 1 cup water, place the lid, give 2 whistles at high flame.
  9. Switch off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally.
  10. Open the lid, add rice, also add lil more salt if needed, sugar & dahi, mix it well.
  11. You may add some more water if required.
  12. Place the lid, give 4 whistles at high flame. Turn off the flame. Allow it to depressurise naturally.
  13. Take out in a serving dish, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
