- 1 1/4 cup basmati rice
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 3 tbsp ghee/oil
- 3 cloves
- 2 cardamoms, one black cardamom
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp shajeera
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp black pepper corns
- 2 medium onions thinly sliced
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 500 grams chicken pieces
- For Spices-
- to taste salt according
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp mint and coriander leaves chopped
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 green chillies, slit
- 1 1/2 cup water
Instructions to make to make Chicken pulao
- Wash, clean&soak the rice for 20 minutes, drain water set aside, marinate chicken with salt, chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, &yogurt for about 15 minutes
- Add 3 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker, when it's hot enough add dry garam masala ingredients& bay leaf saute it till spices begin to sizzle.
- Add onion slices, green chilli, saute until light brown, add ginger garlic paste saute again for 2-3 minutes, now add marinated chicken fry for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
- Now add chopped tomato, mint and coriander leaves, add rice, salt, & lemon juice, give everything a gentle mix, now add water stir once, close the cooker lid, get one whistle, let it cool down, open it and serve hot. You can enjoy with raita/gravy too...
